TV 2 Barclays Premier League HD

New fully automated HD studio

English soccer is extremely popular in Norway. And as most fans have to watch football on their TV sets, the English Premier League publishing rights are very attractive for broadcasters. TV 2 Norway won the final bid for the Premier League rights spring 2010. The next three years TV 2 will broadcast Premier League matches on their new football channels, TV 2 Barclays Premier League HD.

Head of sports at TV 2, Bjørn Taalesen, says to www.tv2.no : "I don't want to say anything about what TV 2 paid for this, but it's obvious to everybody that this is a major investment". It's a reality for most European broadcasters - competition is growing and it costs a lot of money to keep up the market share". To front these challenges, TV 2's sports department decided to build their new Premier League studio based on Mosart automation. Almost every piece of equipment in the new HD gallery is monitored and controlled by Mosart.

The director/Mosart operator controls lighting, camera movements, sound and vision mixer, graphics system etc. Advanced desired events are set in the NRCS using templates or executed using the Mosart keyboard, enabling highly advanced features taking the studio production to a higher level. During long hour shows a gallery technician assist the director in the control room. The studio has 5 cameras on pan/tilt robotics as well as having two on railing.

Head of production at TV 2's sports department, Einar Kaslegard, says: "Mosart has given us the chance to provide our precious viewers the quality program output they deserve - for less money. Mosart will be a natural part of our studio productions in the future".
